SECONDARY PURPOSE 

Two dear neighbors never showed a hint of faith. As they aged my wife and I could never decide when or how to mention the comfort of being close to God. Twelve years after they passed, we still wish we had done SOMETHING; anything! Missing that opportunity with one of your loved ones could haunt you for the rest of your life.

A lot of people avoid any thoughts of their afterlife until their life hits a speed bump. That could be a big success or failure, a car accident, sickness, finding or losing the right companion or job, or the near-death experience of a loved one or them self. These cause most people to reassess their lives and maybe open their minds for a while. This is often the best time to help, but it can also be very sensitive time.   

RIGHT IS:

The most welcoming “SOMETHING” we could come up. It is for the millions of people who aren’t sure how to help those who also don’t know how to proceed. It honors them as they are and helps them feel that they are on the glide path to something good.

It’s what many of us might like to say, especially to friends or relatives with poor health, age, anxiety or whatever.

It is for those who don’t have God in their life or in their support group. It’s not judgmental and doesn’t deal with the specifics of passing. It honors where they are and how they got there, but mostly it is forward looking.

• People, especially older ones, don’t hear well, remember well or make snap decisions. They need time to process ideas. They will forget your best lines before you leave the room.
• When books are in homes they can be reviewed often, and by other members of the household
• It is good to get your kindest thoughts, effort, choice of approaches, or timing off of your to-do list. But it could be bad timing for your Recipient who may not be in the mood to hear your pitch or respond.
